Gamesite.sk is a gaming portal that brings news and interesting facts from various game genres, e-sports, and the world of technology. Gamesite was entrusted to me in its old design. However, we decided to completely overhaul the website and redesign the entire Gamesite.sk brand. With the help of our talented graphic designers at Zoznam, we refreshed the logo design and elements on the website, but we retained the iconic blue color that Gamesite has had since its launch in 2009.

The website also underwent a content migration from the Joomla content management system to the WordPress content management system. Unfortunately, Joomla no longer met some of the standards we expected from a content management system; processes were inefficient and content uploading was time-consuming, which was frustrating for the editorial team. Therefore, we switched to WordPress, where we were able to customize many things with the help of our programmers and save a lot of time for the editorial team when uploading content.

The redesign was challenging mainly due to the content migration, where we were particularly cautious not to damage our search engine rankings. We changed the URL structures of each layout, so we paid close attention to redirects. It was a challenge; since 2009, approximately 55,000 articles have been added to Gamesite, and the website itself had about 100,000 subpages.

We launched the redesign on February 21, 2024, and it was successful. We maintained our traffic and even slightly increased it, and our search engine rankings remained intact. We are gradually building SEO and creating quality content to grow our traffic even higher.

Dynamic year-on-year growth: The project under my leadership has shown continuous growth, culminating in an increase in the base of real users by 322 % compared to January 2024.

Record metrics: In July 2025, we recorded an absolute peak with traffic of 152,806 real users and more than 449,000 page views (PV).
